Creating A YouTube Account And Channel

Hi this is Don Archer again, thanks for watching.

In the last set of videos I showed you how to create and edit a video with the purpose of attracting customers by getting your business first on Google. In this video I’m going to show you how to create a YouTube account where you can upload your video.

You might be asking why do I need to upload my video to YouTube first? Why can’t I just display it directly from my website?

Well the answer is because posting your video directly to your site can have the unfortunate consequence of slowing your site down.

And… you know how it is…we’re all impatient, if it takes more than a few seconds to load your video, no one’s going to wait, they’ll click away and go on to something else.

So video hosting sites like YouTube, Wistia, and Vimeo are great places to house your videos. You can use links to send visitors to their platform or you can embed your uploaded videos directly to your site. I’ll talk about that a little later on. For now we’re going to talk about creating a YouTube account.

The first thing you need to do is create a Google account. Google owns YouTube and they keep track of everything you do so they can market it to you better. So creating a Google account is mandatory. It’s real easy to do just follow the steps in this video tutorial.
